Merchants rail at Phx. rail officials

PHOENIX — Tired of construction headaches, a loss of business and the prospects of going under, merchants teed off on light-rail officials during the Metro board's final meeting before a summer break.

More than a dozen business owners along the construction line addressed the board Tuesday, saying Phoenix and the Metro staff had failed miserably to properly market and support businesses along the line.

"I will not be open in 30 to 60 days if this continues as it is," said Martha Craig, owner of Central Christian Supply.
