Arizona Congressman shares concerns over increased terrorist threat

A key Arizona lawmaker shares U.S. Homeland Security Michael Chertoff's concern that there is a substantially increased threat of a terrorist attack inside the U.S. this summer.

Chertoff expressed his view to the Chicago Tribune editorial board earlier this week, saying Islamic terrorists tend to favor warm weather attacks and that he had "a gut feeling."

U.S. Rep. John Shadegg, R-Phoenix, said he trusts Chertoff's opinion. "Based on my own ongoing study, I believe we continue to face a grave threat from radical Islamists and al-Queda and it is essential for the American people to be constantly vigilant," said Shadegg in a statement.
